The tomb of Sir John Moore at Corunna, Spain in 2001.
It is in a small park on its own, beautifully maintained, overlooking the harbour.
With thanks to Capt William Gaymer.

Ben the Beef Eater:
'So there I was in the Radfan with only goats for company ...'

.... a hillside of goats .....The first experience of meeting this legend to befall the Norfolk Editor was in 1973. Prior to a Colchester ranges weekend A (Royal Norfolk) Company, 6 Royal Anglian, were bivouaced for the night at Friday Woods

As a new officer cadet the chronicler wondered why he was detailed to share a 9' x 9' tent with the PSI, Ben Turner, while the rest of the company shivered out in the frosty April air - this was in the days of itchy army blankets before sleeping bags were on issue.

The reason became apparent at 3 am when Ben was still talking and the chronicler dozed off.
Waking in the chill air at 6am to the accompaniment of birdsong, Ben was still describing the incident of shooting up a hillside of goats in some hot place.
It was possibly the RADFAN - but you ask him!

We never planned ahead when to wear the RPJ tie but, over the 2 weeks, we both chose at least one evening to brighten the Mess !
