Duncan related that at a Sennybridge Camp he was introduced to a young Offr Cdt and for years assumed that the introduction involving the lad's name was an abbreviation for his first name, Vincent. So, for years, Duncan addressed said officer as "Vince", realising only recently that his actual name was Chris Vince!
As ever, we particularly thank Keith Martin for the vast amount of work involved in despatching invitations, collating the returns, liasing with the caterers and setting up the Mess.
It looked splendid.
But he excelled himself in 2001. Every year, a huge number of chaps write down Felicity a "Sit next to".
Keith Martin pulled a masterstroke in 2001 and so it was an absolute delight to have Felicity sitting next to me for the first time ever!
After all, I was Intelligence Officer at Bury St Edmunds under the Late Great Major Trevor Nightingale TD JP (with the most appropriate initials "TA"!) when Felicity made her first appearance at Bn HQ. She came into the lecture room, carrying a motor-cycle helmet, entering from behind Trevor who was giving a presentation. It stopped the flow!

We have a vested interest in retaining the Dinner Club title. A member, who wishes to remain anonymous, has left us £500 in his will, provided the name remains the same at the time of his demise.

And to match that, DWJ has promised £5000 in white fivers, a cwt of bread pudding and a bucket of custard towards the dinner following his departure to the Great Auction House in the Sky!

Be there!

Now brace yourself for a rare view of not one but two Ron James ties - Dick Watson and John Davidson modeling them, flanking Chris Overton who is holding the Easton College Royal Norfolk and Royal Anglian Regimental Garden Appeal brochure (Design by Pipe Major at Sandawana!)
