OF REMEMBRANCE SERVICE - THU 5 NOV 09
From Maj John Denny : The Field of Remembrance is in the grounds of Westminster Abbey, Parliament Square, London, SW1 and is organised each year by The Royal British Legion Poppy Factory.
The Field is open on the Thursday before Remembrance Sunday and remains open for a week. A plot is dedicated to each Regt with maps of the layout available at the Abbey when the field is open.
The Opening Ceremony 2009 is at 1100 hrs on Thu 5 Nov. As, in previous years, it is hoped that the Duke of Edinburgh will attend.
We Need Your Support at the Royal Norfolk Regimental Plot at the Opening Ceremony and afterwards for refreshment at the Farmers Club, 10 minutes walk away.
Please come if you can and telephone the Norwich Office, 01603 400290, so that we have some idea of numbers. Invitation to The Farmers Club afterwards is limited to the first 50 !
1. Entrance to the Field will be allowed from 0930 to 1030 hrs. This will involve passing through Police security checks.
2. One representative nominated by the plot organiser will be allowed to stand at the front of the plot. All others standing in the areas behind the plots.
3. The Royal Party will arrive at 1055 hrs.
4. Everyone attending must remain until the Royal Party has left.
